"Tell me about a time in the past year when deviation trending led us to implement a significant process change, resource reallocation, or strategic initiative."

If you can't identify examples where deviation data drove strategic decisions, your trending generates reports but not action.

"How quickly can you tell me whether deviations are increasing in a specific area, what types are increasing, and whether they correlate with recent changes or other quality events?"

If this requires days of data compilation rather than minutes of dashboard review, your deviation intelligence infrastructure is inadequate for proactive management.

"When we close CAPAs as effective, what evidence do we have that similar deviations decreased not just for the specific situation addressed, but across similar processes or areas?"

If effectiveness verification only looks at the narrow situation that triggered the CAPA, you're confirming individual action completion, not systemic improvement.

These questions distinguish between deviation systems that document events and deviation systems that drive improvement.
